Abstract:
This study explored the relationship between information governance policies and organizational infonomics
within microfinance banks in South-south Nigeria, Information governance policy is defined as a comprehensive
document aligning with corporate governance, involving stakeholders to formalize the management of corporate
information assets (Basma, 2019). Organizational infonomics refers to embedding of information values within
an organizational culture to achieve operational efficiency and informed decision-making. By focusing on access
control and compliance framework policies which are the dimensions of information governance, the study
analyzed 211 valid survey responses from 77 banks and found a significant relationship between information
governance policies and organizational infonomics. The results further highlight that organizational culture acts
as a critical moderator, significantly influencing the strength of the relationship between information governance
policies and organizational infonomics. Consequently, the findings emphasize that robust access control and
compliance framework policies are essential for driving the success and sustainability of information value that
leads to operational efficiency and inform decision making within the Nigerian microfinance banking sector..
